Kingswood

Rock

Melbourne, Austrailia

Grit? Check. “The Look”? Check. Alt-rock attitude? Check.

The Aussie rockers, skewing the line somewhere between rock and alternative, have been at it since their 2014 debut dropped, with the whirlwind guitars and the sonically pleasing (and NBT.FM favorite) “Ohio” hit the scene, and with each album the band has sprung slightly into a newer direction, a newer sound, all the while maintaining the three checks above that keep them Kingswood.

The bands newest release, Juveniles, which dropped this past March, is a great blend of everything we’ve heard from them prior. Some rock, some garage, some alternative, some moments indie. The lovechild of the 90s, 00s, and 10s, wrapped up and delivered in 2020. Don’t sleep on this album - it’s got something for everyone, even a few moments of the classic Laurel Canyon-vibe (see: “One More Dance”). Kingswood just keeps getting better, and while Triple J in their native homeland keeps plugging them, they have really yet to make a dent stateside. Time for that to change, America.
