The Tennessee native brings the hauntingly beautiful southern gothic roots sound to an unmatched level, best described as something between Brittney Howard, former NBT featured artist Joy Oladokun, Allison Russell, and Brandi Carlile. Quite a spectrum, but it’s truly hard to pinpoint one sound when you listen to her 2021 album Wary + Strange.
From the blues rocker “Black Myself” (which was nominated for a Grammy) to the twanged up “Ballad of Lost” to the emotional storytelling ride of “Wild Turkey” and to the momentary symphonic and beat-driven “Sleeping Queen”, Kiah is an artist who explores with her heart and without borders of a genre.
Growing up in a home with a musician father, her experiences draw from all angles. From dealing with the death of her mother to finding herself and coming to terms with who she was, Kiah is poised to be on the radar of every single damn person.
