New West

Piano Pop Rock

Toronto, Canada

Welcome to the band you needed to know last year but didn’t, and now you have the chance to know while they are still on the blow up (albeit “Those Eyes” is a massive hit on streaming/TikTok), but the collective out of Toronto are still playing to small clubs.

The band hit our radar in 2020 with their song “Balenciaga”, and we’ve had our eye on lead singer Kala Wita and Co. ever since. The band self-describes are the Brit-Pop sound as having a major influence on them, and it’s clear to see why where you listen to songs like “In Good Time”, “Next To You”, and “Hate That I Love You”, that have that Coldplay or Oasis influence and blur the line between 2008 and 2023 in the most delightful and non-condescending of ways.

We’re checking the band out on their Los Angeles headlining debut show later in April at the famed Troubadour, and with the lads recently signing with Republic and getting rep from Wasserman, we’re expecting the festival circuit, TV circuit, and any other circuit possible to continue the skyrocket New West has had. Top 40, AAA, alternative radio — all ready to be impacted by New West.
