Dossey

Indie-Synth Pop

Austin, Texas

From Eric Johnson and Gary Clark Jr. to Shakey Graves and Spoon to recent Grammy-nominated Black Pumas, there is a genre and/or a band/artist for everyone in the “music capital of the world” Austin, Texas. Rising like a wildfire on that list and making herself known is the electro-pop queen Dossey, a multi-instrumentalist who can whirl and rollick while playing the electric guitar, sing (and we mean SING) while jumping up and down, or tango with fellow ATX musicians as part of her folk/bluegrass outfit Indian & the Jones. Long and short: she is the jack of all trades.

Noted as one of the 100 artists to see during SXSW ‘19 by NPR, Dossey is quickly makes waves in the scene with her new batch of music. “Someone to Love”, her newest single, released earlier in July, blends electrowave beats and production with a croon that could rival Lauren Mayberry of CHVRCHES. The infectious sound is one that can fit nicely on almost any mood booster playlist and be an anthem for anyone who has ever been dealt a blow by love. The indie kid, the top 40 lover, or the current teenage music wasteland of TikTok (we’re all old over here), all should be able to get behind this risers sound. With more new music on the way in 2020 and into 2021, Dossey is poised to be a name to keep on the radar of all those who feel so inclined. For a history-rich music city and a state that has brought along some amazing talent in the last 20 years, this is one artist Texas does not want to sleep on.
