Nolan Taylor

Folk / Americana

Cincinnati, Ohio

Riding the waves of highs and lows, Cincy’s own rising troubadour Nolan Taylor struck proverbial breakout gold with his song “68”, released this past April. While the lines blur between Nolan and that of Oliver Anthony and “Rich Men North of Richmond”, who also saw sprawling success around the same time, Taylor leans a bit more into the folk realm and less into the country, which is where Anthony has spawned his success. The songwriter writes from the heart, with brutal and honest lyrics and a rasp that speaks troubled truths. And while the song has been around for a few years now, the studio recording is a welcomed departure from the farm-to-screen takes that Taylor has provided for his online crowd.

The songwriter has shared the stage of late with fellow troubadors like Charles Wesley Godwin, as well as Uncle Lucius, who is a perfect descriptor and match for the sound and trajectory that Taylor could take.
